Travel hintsWrocław can be reached by plane (WRO airport), train (Wrocław Główny train station), bus (e.g. Flixbus) or private bus/car.AirportCity buses (line 106) from the airport also connect directly to the Wrocław Główny train station. Other viable option is taxi/Uber/Bolt. TrainsIf you intend to travel by train, then you will probably start by visiting the connection search engine of the Polish Railways. Be aware that the trains in Poland are operated by many distinct companies and their tickets might be not interchangable. BusesBuses (like Flixbus) seem to be a reasonable alternative to trains, especially since they are usually faster (provided there are no traffic jams). There is however no central database of all bus connections. For domestic routes try www.e-podroznik.pl. In some cases you should be able to buy the electronic ticket for the bus in this system. However, do not expect the system to supply a proper international route, as it is devised with internal connections in mind. CarIt may be difficult to park a car in Wrocław city centre, but if you decide to go by car, we can host your vehicle in the locked underground parking of our Institute. Route from Main Railway StationIf you decide to go by train, then the Main Wrocław Railway Station (Wrocław Główny) located at ulica Piłsudskiego 105 is not far away from our institute, around 2km. The city domestic and international bus station is located directly south from the Main Railway Station, in the underground of Wroclavia shopping mall. Public transportIf you want to use the public transport, we recommend the following site, which provides information about the possible connections within the city. Google Maps routes usually work well for city trams and buses in Wroclaw. The tickets are either one-pass or valid for a period of time. They can be bought (only) by card inside trams or buses (don't be suprised that the machine does not print the ticket, and instead saves some information about your card); ticket machines are available only on some stops. Here are ticket types and prices. |
